Improve your skills, sail an Impulse better

Open to all – bring your club’s Impulse fleet and make a day of it.

We are planning a 9-30 am - 5.00 pm intensive training period, mostly in small groups on the water with four expert skippers who have won more National and State titles than you can poke a stick at. They have volunteered to share their skills with we mere mortals.

The focus for the day will be on-water boat handling skills, rigging, and sail setting.

COST (includes BBQ lunch and training notes but you will have to buy a $2 parking ticket):

Free to financial members of VISA (remember the parking ticket).

 (If you haven't paid your annual subs yet, or are not a member, you can pay them/join at the Lake on 26th and still have a free day.)

Non-financial members or non VISA members are encouraged to attend with an Impulse but will be charged $10 for the day (and will be invited to become a financial member and have a free day!)

WHAT TO BRING:


Your Impulse and sailing gear
Sailing boots or sandshoes (too much glass is at the bottom of the waist deep water to go without)
Pencil and paper to write down all the good tips
A willingness to lose your bad sailing habits

PS: This will be great training for our next Traveller’s Trophy event the Four of a Kind Regatta at Chelsea Yacht Club on 8-9 November with 11 am and 2 pm starts and great cash prizes. The Impulses did really well last year and we should have an even bigger and better fleet this year.
